LarpBot Terms of Use
Effective date: 30 July 2026 Last updated: 2 August 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Abhiram Somisetty ("we", "us") covering your use of the LarpBot iOS app. By using LarpBot you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Your privacy is covered separately by the Privacy Policy.
Note on Apple's standard EULA. If you obtained LarpBot from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where these terms and Apple's EULA genuinely conflict, Apple's EULA governs for App Store distribution. These terms add to it; they do not replace it.
1. What LarpBot is — and what it is not
LarpBot generates short briefings on a topic so you can follow a casual conversation about it. It searches the web and summarises what it finds.
It is a conversational aid, not a source of truth. Output is produced by a large language model without human review. It can be wrong, out of date, incomplete, or confidently mistaken. The app tells you this on every screen, and it is the single most important thing in this document.
LarpBot is not and must not be relied on as:
- professional, legal, medical, financial, tax, or investment advice
- a news service, a research tool, or a citable source
- a basis for any decision that matters
Verify anything consequential before you act on it or repeat it as fact.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the UK and EEA where that higher age applies) and able to form a binding contract. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use LarpBot with the involvement of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms.
3. Your account
An account is optional — LarpBot works anonymously. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping access to the email address or Apple ID it is tied to. Tell us at abhisurya3221@gmail.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
4. Acceptable use
Do not:
- use LarpBot to generate content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights
- attempt to extract our prompts, keys, or credentials, or use the app as a general-purpose proxy to the underlying model
- circumvent, tamper with, or attempt to raise the usage limits described in section 5
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable where you live
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its output as your own product
- use automated means to access the service at a volume a person could not
We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of this section. Where practicable and lawful, we will tell you why.
5. Usage limits
LarpBot is free to use, with a daily ceiling. The free tier includes:
- 15 briefings per day
- 40 Ask Now and follow-up questions per day
LarpBot Pro raises those ceilings to:
- 60 briefings per day
- 200 Ask Now and follow-up questions per day
Counts reset at midnight UTC. Limits are enforced on our server, so reinstalling the app does not reset them.
Pro raises the ceiling; it does not remove it. Every briefing is a paid call to a third-party model, so there is no unlimited tier. We may change these numbers — including for existing subscribers — but if we reduce a paid ceiling we will give you notice in the app first and you may cancel as described in section 8.
6. LarpBot Pro — subscription and auto-renewal disclosure
The following is the complete commercial disclosure for LarpBot Pro.
| Term | Detail |
|---|---|
| Subscription name | LarpBot Pro |
| Product identifier | com.larpbot.pro.monthly |
| What you get | 60 briefings and 200 questions per day, up from 15 and 40 |
| Length of subscription period | 1 month |
| Price | US$4.99 per month in the United States storefront. In other countries the price is set by Apple's regional pricing and is always shown in your local currency on the purchase screen before you buy. |
| Free trial | 1 week free, for customers who have not previously used a trial or introductory offer in this subscription group |
| Renewal | Automatic, monthly, until cancelled |
| Family Sharing | Not enabled |
| Billed by | Apple, to your Apple Account |
6.1 Auto-renewal — the terms you are agreeing to
LarpBot Pro is an auto-renewing subscription.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly period at the then-current price, and your Apple Account is charged for each renewal.
- Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- The subscription continues until you cancel it. It does not lapse on its own.
- You must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid being charged for the next one.
- Cancelling does not refund the period you are already in. You keep Pro until that period ends.
- You can manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings at any time — see section 8.
6.2 Free trial terms
- The trial is 1 week (7 days) at no charge.
- The trial is available once per subscription group. If you or your Apple Account has already used a trial or introductory offer for LarpBot Pro, you are not eligible again and will be charged the standard price from the start. Apple determines eligibility, not us, and the purchase screen shows what you will actually be charged.
- If you do not cancel, the trial converts automatically into a paid monthly subscription at the price shown, charged to your Apple Account.
- To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Cancelling during the trial ends access at the end of the trial period, and you are not charged.
- Where Apple offers a refund on an unused portion of a trial, that is Apple's decision to make, not ours.
6.3 Price changes
If we change the subscription price, Apple will notify you and, where Apple's rules require it, will ask for your consent before the new price is charged. If you do not consent, the subscription will not renew at the new price. We cannot change the price of a period you have already paid for.
7. Platform billing rules
Where you bought your subscription determines how it is billed, refunded, and cancelled. We do not process payments and we cannot take a payment, issue a refund, or cancel a subscription on your behalf.
7.1 Apple App Store (iOS — the current release)
All LarpBot purchases are made through Apple's in-app purchase system.
- Apple is the merchant of record. Your receipt, your billing history, and your payment method all live in your Apple Account.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no ability to approve, deny, or expedite an Apple refund, and no visibility into the decision.
- Subscription management and cancellation happen in Apple's settings (section 8).
- If Apple's retry period or grace period applies after a failed payment, we continue to honour your Pro access for the duration of that period rather than cutting you off while Apple retries your card.
- Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions govern the transaction itself.
7.2 Google Play (Android)
There is currently no Android version of LarpBot, and no subscription can be purchased through Google Play today. This section states the terms that will apply if and when an Android release ships, so that the commercial terms are settled in advance:
- Google would be the merchant of record for purchases made through Google Play Billing.
- Auto-renewal, the renewal window, and the cancellation deadline would work as described in section 6.1, with Google Play in place of the Apple Account.
- Cancellation would be at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, or via Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions.
- Refunds would be governed by Google Play's refund policy and handled by Google, not by us.
- A subscription bought on one platform does not transfer to the other. Entitlements are granted by the store that took the payment.
If an Android version is released, these terms will be updated and the Android app will present the disclosure for its own store at the point of purchase.
8. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, in a few taps, without contacting us. You do not need to email anyone, justify the decision, or wait for us to act.
On iOS:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap LarpBot Pro, then Cancel Subscription.
You can also do this from inside LarpBot: Settings → Manage subscription, which opens Apple's subscription sheet directly.
Or from a browser at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
After you cancel: Pro remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your account returns to the free tier. Nothing is deleted, and your locally saved briefings stay on your device.
Cancelling is not the same as deleting your account. To delete your account, see section 8.3 of the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription — you must cancel it with Apple.
9. Intellectual property and trademarks
See Trademarks and Attribution for the full notices.
In summary: we own the LarpBot app, its name, and its design. You get a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app. Briefings are generated for you and we claim no ownership of your topics or questions — but generated text is assembled from third-party sources, may not be original, and may describe or quote material owned by others. You are responsible for how you use it, including whether any onward use is permitted by the rights holder.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LarpBot is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of content.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that briefings will be accurate or current, or that defects will be corrected. We depend on third-party services and cannot guarantee their availability.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or reputation, arising from your use of LarpBot — including any embarrassment, reliance on inaccurate output, or consequence of repeating something the app told you.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to LarpBot is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and — for consumers in the UK, EEA, and other jurisdictions with mandatory consumer protections — your statutory rights, which are unaffected by this section.
12. Statutory rights and withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days. Because LarpBot Pro is delivered immediately, that right may be limited once you begin using it. In practice, purchases made through the App Store are refunded under Apple's process (section 7.1), which is generally at least as generous. Your statutory rights are not displaced by these terms.
13. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. For material changes to these terms, or a reduction in what a paid tier provides, we will give notice in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use LarpBot after that point means you accept the change. If you do not, cancel as described in section 8.
14. Termination
You may stop using LarpBot at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of section 4, or if required by law or by a platform operator. On termination the licence in section 9 ends. Sections 9 to 11 and 15 survive.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, and the courts of the State of Washington, USA have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Before filing anything, please email abhisurya3221@gmail.com — most problems are faster to fix directly.
16. Apple-specific acknowledgements
Where LarpBot is obtained through the App Store, you acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for LarpBot.
- If LarpBot fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to LarpBot, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, and consumer protection claims.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and defending any third-party claim that LarpBot infringes intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
